THE ROLE

More recently the Construction Services department has developed into an autonomous business unit with a growing pipeline of existing contracts and tendered contracts within both the telecom infrastructure and construction projects.
 
They have a proven track record on the delivery of solutions to Network Operators and Equipment Manufacturers and the skills and expertise enable them to offer a wide ranging portfolio of services and solutions to the industry using in house technical resources.

Turnover has grown quickly on recent years to £8m currently and the business is profitable.
 
Strategic objectives include the further development of the Construction Division, by expanding activities beyond the current core focus and into a wider market opportunity.
 
A role for a Construction Director Designate has been approved and will provide a challenging commercial and capital growth opportunity for the right individual with an autonomous business leadership role within an existing developing business.
 
Key Tasks (not limited to): 
  • Review current activities, assess market opportunities and agree profit growth plans
  • Identify and manage relationships with key partners.
  • Target relevant opportunities.
  • Preparation of pre-qualifications and lead the bidding process / pricing of work.
  • Ensure efficient surveys, accurate schedules of work, budgets and roll out.
  • Manage in-house and subcontract labour.
  • Manage the related supply chain.
  • Grow maintenance revenue platform.
  • Lead client relationships, provide customer care role model.
  • Maintain a quality driven environment.
  • Achieve agreed divisional budget criteria.
Candidate profile: 
  • Must aspire to working in an entrepreneurial and driven environment.
  • Capable of elevation to board directorship with potential equity stake.
  • QS or relevant engineering background in construction, building, utilities maintenance or the like.
  • Energy determination and initiative - team player in SME environment.
  • Likes change, challenge and involvement in strategic issues.
  • Natural business development skills, track record of tendering and winning work.
  • Good networking skills, partner and client relationship management.
  • Related degree or equivalent a major plus.
  • Commercial hands on and obvious communication skills.
