Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor

COMPANY
  • The Company is one of the longest established construction companies in the UAE.With a head office in Dubai, they have offices inAbu Dhabi and Sharjah and operate in the UAE and other Gulf countries. With a number of large project starting they are looking to grow the team.
  • We are looking for a Senior QS or Commercial Manager with at least 10 years of experience working on multimillion dollar projects,  preferably from a civil engineering or infrastructure background or at least with significant experience dealing with large civil engineering  accounts or contractors, you will be degree educated, you must also have has experience of FIDIC contracts and possibly be RICS qualified. You will be looking after a team of four QS’s and be able to drive the variation account to finalisation. The successful candidates will be rewarded with an excellent salary along with the benefits associated with the living and working overseas with a full employment package.
 JOB PURPOSE
  • Responsible for all commercial activities within this civil engineering and infrastructure organization, reporting to the commercial director you will be responsible for a team of Quantity Surveyors. Due to the increased work load there is a new position being created.
 JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES LINKED TO OBJECTIVES
  • Professional delivery of sustainable, profitable growth. - To lead the commercial and contractual aspects of a Project or business Area to support operations and set strategies with the objective of minimising risks, maximising opportunities and avoiding disputes.
  • As a member of a Project Team advising and providing strategic input and Commercial expertise to support to the Project to enable the: - Maintenance and delivery of the stated profits and margins
  • Establishment of robust and consistent change control processes on the Project/Area to ensure that appropriate Contract Price adjustments are identified and agreed with the Client
  • Identify and calculation of appropriate risk and opportunity allowances and their active management - Delivery of consistent value and cost reporting, as required for Business Unit and Project control and review - Maintenance of cost control systems for demonstration to clients (where required).
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE / TRAINING
  • QS Graduate
  • 10 years of relevant construction industry experience with responsibilities for delivery of design, and exposure to construction, costing, estimating and planning.
  • Proven design experience from concept through solutions to technical/construction challenges and issues.
