Commercial Director to work for a major engineering contractor from Reading, overseeing a £3.5 billion power plant project for the UAE.
 
THE ROLE
 
The Commercial Director position will be dedicated initially to the £3.5 billion power plant to be constructed in the UAE. All works will be coordinated from Reading & thereafter this major project the role will offer the opportunity of continuity overseeing similar size works within the organisation.
 
The key aspects of the role will be to oversee the management of the commercial teams responsible for contracts/procurement resources within the project team and ensure they carry out the following functions:-
 
  • Development of contract strategies
  • Development of procurement plans
  • Coordination of contractor/supplier prequalification
  • Development of Contract templates for approval by legal group
  • Coordinate tender functions
  • Lead negotiations with supply chain
  • All aspects of post contract administration
  • Management of equipment expediting
  • Dispute resolution
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION - EXPERIENCE – TRAINING
 
Ideal candidates will have 5-10 years experience in commercial Directors role on multi disciplined projects. They must have the ability to manage teams with engineering and project management, and be able to lead the team of contract administration, quantity surveying and procurement resources. Previous employment with either an EPC company or major contractor is essential. The preferred, industry sector experience for these candidates would be oil and gas, pharmaceutical, nuclear or power
 
SALARY – BENEFITS
£130K - £150K Plus benefits
